I am going to ask you a question before we start introducing our methods and strategies. In your opinion, what is English? It is a language and skill, right? So, the only way to improve your skill is the practice because practice makes perfect. You have to understand that there is not shortcut on English learning. Definitely, your success is the sum of efforts and perseverance.

At the beginning, you probably do no have any concepts or ideas how to study English. But, do not worry about it because it is not difficult like you think. What are the three main factors for English studying? Got it? Yeah, you can learn English as easy as Chinese. Think about it. How does a baby study Chinese? What does the baby absorb and what does generate?

Pronunciation, vocabularies and grammar are the three basic elements that you need to absorb everyday. Then, you need to generate listening, speaking, reading and writing. Obviously, the most important thing is to apply them to your daily life. Furthermore, you must have a good learning habit before you start your learning plans because a good habit can lead you to be successful easily.

First of all, I do not recommend an electronic dictionary when you study English because electronic dictionary will increase your laziness. Think about it. You probably jut underline the new words and write down the Chinese meaning beside them. But, you never recite them because you got the meaning too easily.

Secondly, vocabularies accumulation is the daily work that you have to do because it is the only approach to expand your vocabulary volumes. You can recite the words by pronunciation, or prefix. It does not matter which method you use but you need to conclude your own ways. Now, its the time to introduce the methods and strategies.

VOA or CNN news is one of the best free resources to improve your listening skill. Firstly, news can provide varieties of topics to you as politics, economy and culture. In other words, learners can get different information that they need. Secondly, news can broaden your knowledge fields.
