The Chinese Education System

The education system of a country is closely related with what kinds of talents it produced. For instance, the students in the western country and china are different both in mind and behavior because they were educated in different environment. Western students incline to be more active﹑imaginative and open-minded. So it is no surprising that there are more and more students struggling to study abroad. This is what I want to point, the limitation of Chinese educational system.

On one hand, it is well-known that china has a compulsory educational system law which went into effect on July 1 1986. It calls for each child to have nine years of formal education. It seems that schooling was combined with plenty of recitation﹑ exercises and examination. Teachers were no longer regarded as the torchbearer but the companion who help you getting through the examination. What is worse, this kinds of education system cause the phenomenon of cheating in the exam for that their abilities were measured by the score they got.

On the other hand, when child finish the nine years formal education, they have to pass the entrance examination for senior-level middle school and then the university entrance examination as the diploma was looked so highly of nowadays in the job searching, especially in the countryside, knowledge was looked upon as the only key to change their destiny. So the students were forced to fight for the higher grade even though they were tired of the monologue courses. What is more, they were not offered the chance to put the knowledge they had learned into practice. This is how the Chinese education system smother the studentsˊ learning ability﹑interests and imagination.
